Recoil Series 2019 won't turn on

Hi,

My 5-year old Recoil suddenly stopped working.
It was working pretty much fine yesterday, the last thing I did was watching a movie (on battery), then I shut it down and a Windows Update started.
The battery was still at 40-ish% and the update did not last long, the PC quickly shut down.

Today I plugged it to charge it, tried to turn it on, but nothing happens.
The power green led turns on for half a second then turns off.

Before that it used to be very slow to boot (5-10 seconds before Windows 10 starts booting) but then worked very fine.
I also regularly have to press the power button twice to turn it on. I always thought it was a faulty contact but it could be linked.

I tried to open it and remove dust, but nothing changed.

Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Have you serviced it since you’ve had it, ie repasted it?

No actually I have to admit today was the first time I opened it.
It’s likely been overheating for some time then which would explain slow boots.

I would suggest an RMA, with extended overheating it’s possibly motherboard or cpu.

You have to service any performance laptop once a year or so to maintain thermals, otherwise temps start to spike, performance drops and high temps soak the motherboard, cpu and GPU leading to eventual failure

Oh boy, that's probably not what I wanted to read, but now I do, it makes a lot of sense. The slower and slower boots should have raised my attention a long time ago.

I think I will consider the RMA then.
Thank you for your help.
