View Full Version : Using TV as a HD monitor?

I'm wondering whether I need a HD monitor for my new desktop (haven't ordered it yet) or whether I can use my TV.

When I connected my TV to my laptop via HDMI, the picture quality was, quite frankly, awful. It clearly was not in HD. Was I doing something wrong? Could it be better when I get my desktop?

This is the tv in question: http://www.hannspree.com/EU/EN/Product/Televisions/LCDTVs/SJ25DMAB/Detail.aspx

Hannspree 25" HD ready 1920 x 1080

Thanks in advance :)

Should be fine. Make sure you have a play round with the tv resolution when you connect it up :)

I know what you mean, i have this problem, remember to play around with the res on the pc, recommended isn't always the best and play around with the screen size and stuff on the TV. I still have problems though, I hope you are more successful, is there anyway that you can type in the resolution into windows?

Yeah should be able to configure it on windows, and the TV aswell. I haven't got my laptop any more since it broke last month, hence I'm getting the new desktop, so I can't check at the moment. :/

Thanks for the advice :)
