VAT increase

Howdy

Will the VAT increase come into effect here on 1st January prompt? Just wondering when would be the absolute latest time to make an order pre increase??

I know it sounds obvious - 31st Dec, but just thought I'd double check.

EDIT - I actually think the increase happens on Jan 4th.

As far as i am aware the VAT increase will happen on the 4th Jan and will not be absorbed. I would expect to see a lot of retailers inflating their prices up until Jan so they can claim they have "absorbed" or paid the VAT increase for you when it happens.

I may just be cynical.

Gorman is correct in that the VAT Increase is with effect from 4 January.

Because we declare our VAT at payment, any orders which are placed and paid for by 3rd January will be at 17.5%. Orders placed on 4th January onwards will be at the higher 20% VAT rate. Whilst our quotes are normally valid for 5 days, any current at midnight 3/4 January will cease to be transferable into orders.

There are no plans to absorb the rate increase at this time. Remember, at PC Specialist there are no sales. We charge the lowest price we can every day of the year.
