Whats y'all think?
Looks good, cant think of any changes!
I think youll have a pretty awesome machine on your hands. Dont forget to show it off on here when it arrives.
Hi yamibone,
The specification looks great, there's nothing that really needs to be changed although you might want to take a look at our overclocked PCs. You can order the exact same rig but we can overclock the Intel i7-930 to 3.8GHz for you!
http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/computers/intel-1366-overclocked/
THanks for the comments people! For sure I will show it off! Pics when i get it running :D
Meds, will overclocking reduce the life of the processor? I need this for a good 4-5 years so I don't know if its a good idea.ALso I can overclock the CPU+GPU myself right? Also I've already ordered this config on finance so I dont think I can change my mind about it.
now that i think about it.. its not such a bad idea and only an extra £10 with the arctic thermal paste...
still i'm worried that it will be overkill to put it to 3.8ghz and it will have a much smaller life
anyone have ideas? can i change my mind even though ive posted my finance form today?

Yes overclocking will reduce the lifespan of any component being run faster than its stock speed. If you want us to overclock it you can just ring the callcentre on monday and pay the difference!
Its upto you in the end, you could always run it and then if you think it needs more grunt clock it a little later on.

Could I ask for a mild overclock say 3.2ghz? And then include the arctic thermal paste too..
another question, ive asked for no operating system to be installed (as i have a win7 disc) so how will you overclock the cpu without a OS installed on the system?
You could arrange this with the callcentre, the OC is a bios setting, independant of OS.
thanks gorman i did ask them to OC it to 3.8 after I was reassured by the salesman now just have to wait for finance to kick in..:|
Thats a very good system and should give you great gaming preformance it is in many ways simular to me although i did go for the most expensive option heres mine below

Mine turned up on friday and im still installing stuff lol, its suprising what you dont think you will need until you run a program and get a message saying you need to install a plug in or something :) I got mine on finance to although i have half the money so im getting there :) I found pcspecalist excellent, especially on customer support and tech support.
I dont think i will try over clocking myself though :) your going for the sensible option and getting them to do it hehe
Being new to win 7 i was glad i went for the professional version as ive found a few old programs not working with win 7. xp mode is awesome and makes those programs work a treat :)
wow thanks for the heads up xavien... omg that is a gargantuan beast of a computer... must have cost u a few G's too... my oh my 2x 5970 why do u need that much power!!! lol.. i guess u must have the money to spend then thats great on you! Isn't it a treat to install all those little plugins and updates when the computer first starts? Makes one feel like they're accomplishing something.. you should post pictures of the rig would love to see it in action!
nah its just one 2gb 5970 :) i nearly got two but i was looking at a 1200 powersupply as well and thats like running a portable aircon unit all day lol bit to much. I will try to get some pics going of the machine, ive spent the last two days and an eve installing stuff, but managed to see the machine running on a few newer games and it rocks :)

Nice rig you got there
Can anyone check the status of my order # ******. I ordered on a 3 day dispatch on tuesday (before 12 noon) so I'm assuming its going to be shipped tomorrow but on the status order screen it still says "Processing". Isn't testing meant to last 24 hours? What gives?
Moderated by Zeplini - removed your order number from public view.
we can chase this up for you in the morning as we dont have access to your details out of work hours i will give you a call if there are any problems yamibone
Yes, I am afraid there has been a delay with delivery of I7-930 processors. They are arriving tomorrow, so it is unlikely given that your system has to be built and tested that you will recieve it on friday. In this event your 3 day fast track will be changed to a 5 day fast track and you will be refunded the difference.
Sorry for the delay, its Intels fault.

You ARE NOT allowed to use the PC Specialist Ltd forums to:
Chase orders / returns through the forum, we have other channels for that.
The main reason for this rule is that the admins are volunteers working from home and do not have access to the systems needed.
Fast track orders will not always show up on the site as normal orders do. If for whatever reason it looks like the fast track will not be met they will contact you directly.
Edit: Like Maestro did just then!
thanks gorman and maestro for the heads up.
Hope I receive it by Monday then!

Ah thats good to know I only ordered today and not earlier. The 930's seem popular so I can understand the shipping issues.
