View Full Version : Still waiting for new pc
I ordered a new PC on 10/4/11. It is now 5/5/11 and it is still in building.
I received an email on 19/4/11 to state that the RAM I had chosen was out of stock, but have heard nothing since.
I have sent at least 3 emails with no reply.
What is going on??

The explanation in this thread (http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?5666-After-care-support&p=52368&viewfull=1#post52368) should help you understand. Hope they get to you're soon!
I'm in a similar situation.... ordered my PC on the 7/04/11 and it's still in building today, 10/05/11, even taking the bank holidays into account 19 working days and counting, nearly five weeks realtime, the wait is killing me now.
This is worrying as mines still in pre-production. Are you ordering a desktop or a laptop? Also have you looked at your notes in the tracking section?
It's a desktop that I've ordered.
Yep, I've checked the notes, it was held up because of a lack of stock of the SSD and PSU I wanted.... received two e-mail with ETAs for the parts, the first on the 28th and then the next on the 5th and eventually an e-mail saying it had been built on the 6/5/11. Although based on what other people have said, once it hits building the whole process speeds up a lot (here's hoping :)
Mine was in pre-production for a long time :(
still waiting for mine been over a week in pre production phase

Yeah, the pre-production stage is the longest stage by quite a long way, once you get into building it should be quick (presuming no problems in testing occur).
I ordered a laptop on the 9th May. It's been in pre-production ever since. Queried this earlier in the week and was told, we try and deliver as fast as possible. Which I laughed at.
Then middle of the week I inquired again and was told a part that was needed has just come into stock. Why wasn't I told this earlier?
Then the usual, you'll get it very soon and it'll go into building. Nope it's still pre-production.
Am thinking twice about my order now.

So it has gone one day over the AVERAGE ESTIMATE, and you are thinking twice?! Mine has been dispatched today and I ordered 5 days before you. The wait won't kill you!

Possibly a little harsh :)
But yeah, it is only an estimated time, and once it reaches building, it does tend to speed through (unless problems happen in testing).

Have to be honest, no need to sugarcoat things!
