Hello,

Been trying to organise myself for a while to get a new pc (last one lasted 5/6 years and still going but its time to move on).

I'll include my *current* potential build below and would like the opinions of the forum and suggestions/comments plz.

To set the expectation I will be using this for a combination of gaming (anything from MMO's [hopefully the new FFXIV] to FPS games {new cod/MOH]). I may also do a little video/picture editing at times (but this will be few and far between).

because you have the 2GB GTX460 i think you should go for the Corsair 850 but other than that it looks nice and healthy mate enjoy :)

Nice spec but i would drop the processor cooling, as reading on the forum tends to be used for Overclocking mostly due to higher temperatures if i am reading it right.

Perfect, but id upgrade hdd to the sata 6g WD1002FAEx 64mb cache, or at least the 3G Wd10ears, 64mb cache, both are 1tb

Hey,

I agree, looks like a solid specification - a lot of thought has gone into it.

There is nothing that needs changing as such, but a couple of the posts above do make sense such as taking advantage of the SATA III 6GB/s speed and upgrading to a Corsair PSU. I mean, the 800W will suffice in terms of powers but little things like the cable management of the Corsair just add that extra bit of build quality to the PC - picky I know but if you're spending over £1k you may aswell be!

The CPU Cooler is fine, the ECO is a good choice. You never know you might want to dabble with a bit of overclocking in the future?

Not sure about the 'Bigfoot Killer 2100 PCI-E Gigabit LAN Card - Max Performance Online Gaming (£69)', I'm sure I saw a thread or two in these forums where people were considering these but we're advised to not bother with cos it wouldn't really make a difference, though admittedly I can't find those threads, so I might be imagining it :)
