I'm trying to install a 64 bit OS into a virtual machine but it won't let me because it says obviously that i have hardware that is capable of VT-x virtualization but it's not turned on, i can t seem to find the option to turn it on in the bios...
CPU is i5 2520m 2.5GHz
Can anyone help?

Hi

I have been looking at buying the Optimus II 15.6" laptop and wanted to check if vt-x was available in the bios. I believe the Optimus II 15.6" is based on the Clevo W150HRM and I came across this info.

http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/416916-clevo-bios-thread-153.html

that indicates that BIOS 1.01.04 supports vt-x. The Link mentions that the BIOS upgrade is for the W150HRx/W170HR models.

I am not 100% sure I have the correct Clevo models, although I have come across posts on this forum that indicate I have.

I also wonder if someone with an Optimus II can confirm the BIOS level that PCS currently supply and confirm that they are not modified in anyway by PCS. Sager does modify them to a least add a splash screen. This is of course assuming updating the BIOS with a Clevo update does not void any warranties. ( Maybe PCS supplies BIOS updates but as I don't have access to the download area I cannot confirm that ).

Took the plunge and updated the BIOS, don't get any new BIOS options, but it appears to have done the trick, I can now install 64 bit OS into a virtual machine...

I'm having the exact same problem on an Optimus 17" (Clevo W170HR) My OS is Ubuntu not windows and I want to install a Win64 guest to run some apps I need for work. Your link to the bios is dead now pedders, can anyone confirm if the bios found here:- http://randomrelease.wordpress.com/2011/10/26/clevo-w150hrx-and-w170hr-bios-updates/ is good, really cannot afford to brick my lappy!!

Thanks.
