View Full Version : Why doesn't i7 2630 support 16GB RAM?
Shouldn't all i7 quad cores support 16GB RAM?
it should do, did you order 32 bit Windows? that only takes up to 4GB and if you have Vista i think that only supports 4GB

OS Win 7 64bit. Try ordering the Vortex II laptop with 16GB RAM and i7 2630. It won't let you.
must be a bug in the system that hasnt registered it as a quad core, it should get sorted soon
why do you need 16GB RAM anyway?
gaming doesnt even require 8GB, so unless its some really intensive video editing multitasking, you wont need that much

Contact PCS to see if you can bypass this physical limitation with your order. Just bear in mind that the 2630QM doesn't support dual-channel above 8GB, I believe.
I don't plan on getting the 2630. Just wondering why it said no to 16GB. I'll be creating mega large cities on Autodesk Maya so I believe 16GB is more appropriate than 8GB.
I've got 16 GB with mine.
