    Gaming rig, £800

    Hi there. I'm looking to get a gaming rig for under £800. I'd be running it on single-monitor setup with a resolution of 1680x1050. Would it be able to run recent games (Deus Ex, Arkham City, Skyrim etc) decently?

    That is a pretty good spec you have there but i would suggest going for an AMD build with your budget and putting the extra money in a better GPU to give you better gaming performance i have put a spec below for you to look at, it has the changes i have just said and also a better HDD and also the £5 silver warranty infact whatever build you go for take the £5 warranty as it extends the 1 month collect and return to a full year.

    Hi guys, thanks for your input.

    I've noticed you've both decided not to go for the extra cpu cooling; is it unnecessary?

    Also; HD6970 vs GTX570?

    You don't need the tripple copper cooler but it is a bit better at knocking a few more degrees off the running temps and for some reason the option is not showing on the AMD builds so if anyone from PCS sees this can you look into why it is not selectable anymore as it used to be ?

    Fear's rig looks like the right one for me. Though like he says, I wouldn't mind finding out about the cpu cooling if it can knock a few degrees off.

    The tripple copper is defo worth the extra 20 pound. Especially if you are intent on LONG gaming sessions.
