CPU - Performance - which would be the faster PC?

Hi,

Given that all other factors were (as far as possible) equivalent (amount/ type of RAM, HDD specs, graphics card etc) which PC would give
better gaming performance :

One based on Intel Core -I7-2700K Quad core (3.50 GHz, 8 Mb cache) or
Intel Core - I7-960 Quad Core (3.20GHz, 4.8GTs/8MB Cache)?

Trying to finalize my new desktop gaming PC spec.

Even if you have no intention to overclock. Btw post your spec for checking before you order.

the 2700k would win, but you could a save yourself £30 and go for the standard i7 2600, 0.1Ghz speed increase is what you will be getting for your money really.

And yes the 2600k would still beat the 960
