I think they will sell, actually. If this option had been available when I'd ordered my pc 10 days ago, I would have got this, not 7. I've had a vista laptop for a few years now and, whilst everyone complains about how rubbish and buggy vista is, I have not had one single issue with it.

7 is a lot better though, why go for a substandard OS when you have a really good OS like 7?

Then again why go for windows when you can use Linux lol

I can't really see that much difference between 7 and vista to be honest. Definitely not £65's worth difference anyway!

Lol theres a massive massive difference between the two. Vista was honestly one of the worst OS's ever released in my opinion, 7 has come some way to redeeming microsoft, but they still got a long way to go. XP SP2 was brilliant in my opinion and some of the server editions have been pretty good in the past.

Agreed, why go for vista if you have 7? I have nothing against linux but there are there are too many compatability issues for my liking! It is becoming more popular and i am sure that it will be good in a few years time. The problem is that programs like Microsoft word and publisher are unlikely to be linux compatible as there are too many linux distros, also, microsoft aren't really going to want to sell something that is compatible with things that aren't their os. Therefore, they are going to make sure that things like publisher are only compatible with their os.

Xp was great for desktops, I personally thought it was awful for laptops but vista was disastrous for both laptops and desktops.

Linux doesnt have that many compatability issues if you know how to fix them, more to the point is that it isnt as straight forward for the beginner, but linux is by far the best OS for techies. Also why use word when you can use open office (libre on linux), its fully compatible with docx formats so really no need to waste the money on office tbh.

What about microsoft publisher? There are quite a few compatibility problems, not only hardware wise which are generall fixable with driver downloads but software. Especially for games.

Hmm, 25 A3 sheets for my DT project, it would take so much longer, personally, it is just so much easier to just use publisher, especially when it is free to me due to my dad's company !
