One reason i am getting a new PC now is that my Mac is on it's way out. It's a 20" intel iMac (one of the early silver ones) and is 3 years old. I keep getting the beach ball of death and it's very slow. It seizes up on the odd occasion too.
I got fed up with it so decided to re format the HDD. I got to the stage where it asked me to choose where to load the prog but the window did not show my HDD. Am i right in thinking my HDD is on it's way out?

I found that mac hardware (although good) seems to get situational sometimes. I found this out with my 4th GEN iPod touch, If I hold in the wrong way it shorts & I have to reboot it
