What would you change?

Hi all,

I'm going to be getting my first ever desktop for gaming soon and i've been looking at the fusion 650 set up. I would like my Pc to play all modern games with decent settings. I'll also need a monitor which i've added below. My budget is around £850-£900

What would you change to this set up? As is all new to me.

Also any set up you could recommend for my budget would be great..cheers

It's a good spec you've built

I'd be tempted to drop the CPU down to a Quad Core one though. Gaming won't utilise 6 cores, wheras 4 cores is still not fully utilised, but is great for gaming Also, you want to be looking at a 560 ti or something similar to play the most demanding games on maxed out settings. Here's a graph based on BF3 (sorry it's in a foreign language). The card seems to be fine playing games on high settings, that graph was on ultra.





Also, consider upgrading to a Corsair PSU. These are generally known for better reliability, and look better inside a case with the braided cables and black design

Maybe if you can fit it in, go for a barracuda HDD, as it has faster boot times than the standard one you've selected Or a caviar Black if you can stretch that far.

It's £20 more than what you stated in your budget but following corfate's recommendations and what i've learn from my time on the forums. I think this would be a good spec for you.

Yeah, luksla has what i was on about You could drop down to 4gb RAM if you wanted to save some money. 8GB won't be utilised, and it's easy to add in the future

VanBoon, in your other post (that I closed because it was a duplicate cross-posted thread) you said wireless was required, is this still the case, since it wasn't included in the spec you posted above?

Sry for my two threads the first wasn't showing. I've just read alot of people saying I should avoid wireless if I can. So I think I'll work around it and just buy some longer cables.

Think this is what I think I'm going for. What do you think?

Looks good think about the Triple Copper Cooler, it's only £19 more and it's worthwhile

It's solid but I'd stick with the 1333mhz ram as thats perfectly fine for your use. 1600mhz is usually for overclocking purposes; you wouldn't really notice a difference under normal conditions with it. Pop in a better cooler and the build is solider

I selected the 1600mhz ram as it looks nicer than the samsung, but other than that, theres no real difference

Lol, it only looks nicer because its got a blue heatsink shield on it. Only advised it for saving the pennies

Edit:

I've re-adjusted it and swapped the 560Ti for the amd 6870 as they are pretty neck and neck and the 6870 works out pretty cheaper. The spec will include the monitor as stated along with a silver warranty while still in the budget zone:

My only thought would be to possibly upgrade the psu so that you could add another gpu later.

It's fine. You just need to save up for the monitor as you swapped it out for an upgraded motherboard and gpu.
