Hi.
I'm replacing an old XP based PC which I use for photography/graphics/web design mainly. (It also plays music while I work). I need to keep the screens(2) that I currently use as they are pro standard for photography. I have another PC which is pretty much the same as the one spec'd below (case & motherboard differ) which I bought about a year ago to do similar work. I will add 2x 250gb SATA 3GB hard drives to this new m/c when I get it so...
Is the power supply sufficient?
Will any extra cooling be required?
Anything you would alter?
I'm very unlikely to use this for games BTW

I would change the graphics card for an AMD Radeon HD6790 and upgrade the CPU to the i7-2600; the power supply and cooling will be fine.

what budget are you on?
this would be a better build;
Case
COOLERMASTER HAF 912 PLUS MID TOWER GAMING CASE-more than enough cooling and lots of space
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i5-2500k Quad Core (3.30GHz, 6MB Cache) + HD Graphics-if you are not planning to overclock then drop this to the I5-2500
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z68-V LX: USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs, ATI®CrossFireX
Memory (RAM)
8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (2 x 4GB KIT)-anymore than this is unstable and overkill
Graphics Card
1.25GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560 Ti 448 CORE (BETTER THAN 2GB VERSION!)-the best gpu without going into silly money but like you say you aren't doing gaming so you will be more than comfortable with the one you mentioned in your previous spec

500GB SATA-II 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 16MB CACHE (7,200rpm)

Memory Card Reader
INTERNAL 52 IN 1 CARD READER (XD, MS, CF, SD, etc) + 1 x USB 2.0 PORT
Power Supply
600W Quiet 80 PLUS Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan (£59)-enough if you dont really plan to upgrade in the future
Processor Cooling
SUPER QUIET 22dBA TRIPLE COPPER HEATPIPE INTEL CPU COOLER (£19)-you cant have too much cooling
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)

I don't really need the extra processing power from the i7, so I'll stay with the i5. But why the Radeon card?

Sub £1000 - but it's really a case of trying to match my current m/c as far as possible

Can't see that on the site

That's why my spec said 2500 not 2500K

so I'll stay with the same card

I'm thinking about that

Well you don't really need an i5, you could get an i3 but the point is you'll get more performance out of the computer through the things you'll be doing with these changes.
