Optimus II 'system needs to be restarted' (hot key application fails) PLEASE HELP
Hi all, basically as in the title. The 'Hot Key' Application which allows graphics switching between the dedicated Nvidia card and Intel graphics says this message that ive uploaded.
I am not aware of any driver updates that have happened, and even if Intel or Nvidia have released updates, - the updates are important, It shouldn't be a case of 'roll back the driver so hot key will work' because updates solve problems/fix issues.
As soon as the laptop boots - logs in, the message appears 'System needs to be restarted again. Make sure all driver is installed' - The graphics switching light is now stuck in 'high performance' mode - and i cant force it to only use the Intel graphics (to save battery)
Is there any Hot Key updates? that i can download? or any Nvidia or Intel Drivers i can download? - Or even any driver at all that will actually work?
Thanks

Check Device Manager for any issues.
Click Start and Type
devmgmt.msc
Lengthy process but you could try the following to see if can isolate anything that maybe causing the error
Start in safe mode (usually by tapping F8 as comp is booting)
Click Start and Type
Msconfig
Services tab (Hide all MS services)
Disable all and apply
Startup tab
Disable all and apply and restart.
If computer starts ok after doing this in normal mode, you will then need to go back in, and one by one add them back restarting each time, to find which it is that is causing the error.
You could also try a system restore to an earlier time when It was working.
Click Start and Type (wait for it.......)
System restore

If I've helped at all please feel free to add Rep by clicking the little star

Hi Jao144,
This error is related to the hotkey driver located on the driver disc that was supplied with your laptop. If you can't find the disc, or want an updated version of the hotkey software/driver, please see the link below to the Clevo ftp site.

All the links are the same file just from different servers, 1 being USA, 2 being Asia and 3 being Europe.
Hope this helps.

I had this error so just recently I switched to 3.3044 and now my machine will not hibernate when the power is critically low. The screen goes blank but something is stopping it hibernating so I end up having to hold the power key down for 10 secs to turn it off. If I kill the process and let the machine run to the critical level everything works as it should.
