    Wireless N Card & ADSL2+ Router

    Yo guys

I was planning on using homeplugs for my new PC but it would result in my PC falling over when someone enters the room. Is there anyway I can use the Wireless N Card & ADSL2+ Router in my room ? I have the BT Homehub with 2 homeplugs. Could I put the ADSL2+ Router in my room and connect it to the homeplug in like I via ethernet cable. Then connect my PC to Router using the Wireless N Card. That way I can get the best wireless connection possible.

    Will this work ?

    Uh?
How would it fall over every time someone entered the room? I'm a bit confused here.

The homeplug must be in a socket. There is only 2 sockets in my room. One is next to xbox which I have put in 2 extentions. But the nearest homeplug is next to the door on the left and the PC will be on the right. This means when someone walks in the door will drag the cable which will then bring the PC along. Thats why Im wanting to know if I can use the router in my room.

So let me get this straight, sorry if its obvious, but anyway.

You have a pair of homeplugs, one near router, one plugged in near (ish) ya pc.

You want to connect the homeplug in the room into a router (also in the room) then connect the pc to the router via wireless?

If that's right, I don't think it will work, as the Ethernet ports on routers will be output only, So I don't think it will be able to take in the internet from the Ethernet cable. But you could try it, but I don't think it will work.

Could you not get a longer ethernet cable? Would that be a possible to solution?

I know my router has what looks like an ethernet port input (it takes the ethernet cable coming from my cable modem), however it is a router that goes with a cable connection, I don't know whether this makes a difference or not.

I don't know how happy the router and homehub would be if you linked them together (which is what you'd be doing)

I dont know if you can get ethernet extenders but it would be atleast 10 meters long so it can go around the back of my tv, xbox, bed, desk then into the PC. But should it have an input port ? Is it not like the BT homehub where it requires a socket for power and a ethernet wall socket for internet connection ? I could input with the homeplug. Otherwise how does the router get its connection unless it connects to the main hub via wireless.

Ethernet cables of 10mts or a lot more are widely available.
