Flicker when playing from computer to tv

I watch tv shows on my tv that I download from iplayer etc. I have a nvidia geforce 210 graphics card and I have set up extended desktops. I have my PC monitor as my main display and have dragged my media player to the tv. When I play them I get a couple of horizontal lines flickering about 1/2 the way up and 2/3rds the way up the screen.
It only happens when my monitor is main display, if I have my tv as main display it's fine, but then I can't use the pc properly.
I've installed new drivers and done a clean install of the drivers and I've changed the HDMI port and cable on the tv to no avail. I emailed Nvidia and they gave me the usual steps but none of them have worked.

The tv is a Panasonic TX-P42GT20B Plasma TV

If anyone could help, I'd be eternally grateful.

So let me see if I have this right....

You have a TV and Pc Monitor hooked up to the GPU, and the Monitor is your primary and TV secondary which do not work correct, but if you switch from that to TV being primary and monitor being secondary it works fine?

When it is in a working state, are both screen OK and same for in non working state both screens not working correct, or is it only ever 1 screen that seems to be not working?

What refresh rate do you have the screens at?
Is it when viewing video files online (Iplayer/youtube etc) or is it from using another media player like Vlc or Windows media player that you are having issues?

If it is Iplayer/youtube etc when viewing a video file right click it and select settings, in there click the first screen and un-check hardware acceleration.

Right click desktop ~ Screen resolution ~ select 1st screen ~ Advanced settings ~ Monitor

Click hide mode box and select the highest refresh rate you can. Apply and ok and do same for 2nd screen.

Yes. When the PC is primary monitor is fine but the tv has a line flickering. Sometimes there's 2 lines but they are always there.
How do I check it is hooked up top the GPU?

The TV picture is perfect when I watch the TV. The monitor is fine all the time. The TV picture has the line when playing a file from my PC.

What refresh rate do you have the screens at?

60Hz, I have the option of 75hz for the monitor but 60hz is the maximum for the tv. All the other options are for less Hz.
Is it when viewing video files online (Iplayer/youtube etc) or is it from using another media player like Vlc or Windows media player that you are having issues?

They are typically .avi or mkv but it's the same whatever the file type and I've tried lots of different media players and they all show the flicker.

I've just done this, the tv was already at 60hz which is the highest. With the monitor I have the option of 60 or 75hz but the box to tick to hide was grayed out and won't let me select it.
Thanks very much for all your help. I appreciate you taking time out to help.

What version of windows have you got? and is it 32bit or 64Bit.
Select the 75Hz for your monitor.
Did you try the deselecting the Hardware acceleration?

If you have windows 7/vista 64 bit, Try these drivers. And when installing click the custom install and then make sure the Clean install box is selected.

    win7-winvista-64bit.exe
    Restart the computer after installed.

After restarted, right click desktop ~ Properties and select your settings, ok and apply, then Open Nvidia Control panel, and set up multiple monitors and config the resolution in there also the same as you did for the desktop settings.

Is windows fully updated??? WMP etc.

How do I check it is hooked up to the GPU?
You will have to look at the back of the computer to see which port the cable is in. Most times all the ports on the motherboard will all be grouped together most likely at the top. The GPU (210) would be lower down.
As I dont know your motherboard I can only show u an example. Below you will see to the left of the picture are all the onboard devices, and to the right in one of the slots is where the GPU would be. Make sure the cables are connected to the card in one of the bottom slots where it will already be obviously. lol

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Select the 75Hz for your monitor.
    Done that.

Where do I change that? I right mouse clicked when playing the file but didn't see it.

I'm installing this now, I'll come back after a restart, smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

    Restart the computer after installed.

It says it has GPU in the screen settings so I'm guessing that's fine.
