    mSATA SSD and HDD

If I select the 80GB Intel 310 mSATA SSD and a normal HDD in the configurator does that mean the O/S will be installed to the mSATA by default?

My understanding is that the drive the OS gets installed on, is whichever one you put in the first Hard Drive option.

If that is true, then what's the point of having an mSATA SSD if the customer is forced to wipe the HDD and re-install the O/S onto the mSATA SSD?

Select the mSATA SSD under "Memory - Hard Disk"

Then select your normal HDD of choice under "2nd Hard Disk"

Your OS will be installed on your first choice.

I was planning on ordering a Vortex III 17.3" with an Intel 80gb mSATA and 2 x 750gb hard drives that means I have no way of specifying that I want to install the O/S onto the mSATA drive unless I call PCS? I can't exactly phone PCS because I am deaf and phoning them is just not an option

Ohhh! I see what you mean now. Sorry, my bad.

Perhaps you could email them? Either that or use the Live Support chat function, although you'll have a better bet of getting a response via email.

Sadly there's no way to specify, you're right!

Think I'll pop an email over to PCS and see what happens. I guess it'll be several days before I hear back from them

    Thanks for the input

PCS have confirmed the O/S will be installed by default onto the mSATA if it's selected in the configurator
