Hi,
I'm loving the Optimus III 15.6" laptop, it seems a great product at a great price, and an awful lot cheaper than anything similar laptops I can find. I am very close to ordering a £750 configuration, but the only deal breaker is the lack of a backlit keyboard. I've had a backlit keyboard for years and really believe I would miss not having one.
I know the Vortex III has a backlit keyboard, but I don't have the money or need for such a high spec laptop. I'm guessing these are futile questions, but is there any way to put the guts of the Optimus into a Vortex chassis? Or any other way to get a backlit keyboard for the Optimus?
As much as I'd hate it, if it really isn't possible I might have to look for a laptop elsewhere. (not a threat, just an unhappy fact)

Backlit keys for cheaper laptops?

I have the same dilemma, a back-lit keyboard is a must but I don' need Vortex GPU power..... here's hoping there is a solution.

same here! i want to order the optimus III aswell but really want a backlit keyboard on it, thats the only thing holding me back...

I'm planning on ordering a laptop in the next few weeks (eventually decided on an Optimus III so I wouldn't be cursing myself for having a much slower laptop just so it had a backlit keyboard) so it will probably be too late for me, but I honestly think its something that could have a reasonable demand if you did bring one out.
When I was trying to find a laptop I found old forum posts here, and plenty more all over the internet wanting a backlit gaming laptop without the need for the serious hardware, bulk and price tag of Alienware, MSI, and your Vortex. The only real competitor to this that I found is the Dell XPS series and as always it was a case of a lot less for a much bigger price.
Just my personal thoughts on the issue.
