Are you planning to OC? Since you have the k version on your CPU choice I'd go with a pre-OC system. I am sure you should be able to send your Noctua CPU cooler for them to fit it for you.

I am not specifically planning to overclock as I understand it shouldn't really be necessary. The Noctua is just a spare part from my current PC that I figure I may as well put on this one. I will be looking to SLI in a couple of months.

I'd downgrade the CPU then for the non-K version. If you planning to SLI the 570 I'd go for an 850w PSU.

Is the 3550 the non-k version? There doesnt seem to be a 3570 available on the site.

Yes, get the i5-3550 if you are not planning in overclocking. I did a different set up with the GTX 570 SLI and it was suggested to increase the PSU to 850w thus my previous comment.

Ok great, well seeing as I will not be overclocking, would you say the Noctua is even necessary to put on?

Nice sexy cooler. Just dont break it. As for specs, its good. If you want some pounds shaving then i would say go for the z77-v board and 1333mhz ram with the saided non k variant i5.

Not really, as the cooler is worth keeping for use. it should fit the board fine. Though slightly overkill in cooling. pop it on the new rig.

I have my CPU OC and it does not benefit gaming , I only use it for benchmarking since it increases the temperatures of your CPU. The Noctua CPU coolers are very good and if you have a spare one just keep it. An alternative is the triple copper heatpipe.

Not a silly mistake, gaming in general doesn't require overclocking at all (what games were you planning on playing)

If you are not adding the Noctua I'd definitely be tempted to get the triple copper heatpipe instead of the bog standard cooling though.

Edit: Rubensolo beat me to it!!
