Best warranty on a gaming laptop?
Hi, I'm looking at getting a Vortex 3 (i7-3610QM/7970m/8gb/750 WD black), but the warranties and dead pixel guarantees are throwing me off. Most of the time when I see specs, people seem to go for Silver warranty, rather than Gold, is there a reason for this? I mean saving £65 is nice, but having a warranty that will ensure that two years down the line, I can get it fixed if it gives up the ghost, is important to me.
Also, I was looking at the dead pixel guarantees. I was told originally on the phone that if they don't appear within the first month, it's unlikely they will appear within the first year, but is this that important? I am a little OCD about dead pixels, but I thought the tech today means they only appear on inferior screens?
I know there's a good aspect of caution to be had, with decent warranties and guarantees, but am I being over the top, and spending money that all other customers would go "wha?!" at (especially when it can be used to upgrade more aspects of the machine!)?
Thanks!

I went with platinum for my rig but that is because I am risk averse and prefer to be on the safe side in case there are any complications. If I am purchasing a laptop I'd go with the gold warranty, I have never purchased any dead pixel insurance, I have not noticed one yet in any of my laptops. Go with whatever gives you more peace of mind.

I wonder why Platinum is not available for laptops? Is it because there's wear and tear on aspects of the laptop that is not easily replaced?
I will go with gold then I think. When I checked Apple and Alienware, the first thing I did was put the highest warranty on there. It's just a shame that they don't do x years accidental cover too.

I though you are able to add accidental damage cover as well (first month free):
To protect your purchase of a tailor-made laptop from PC Specialist, (unless you opt out/otherwise specified) your laptop will come supplied with 1 month's free insurance. After the free cover period expires you will have the opportunity to cancel or start making monthly payments (as detailed below).
