    Graphics Card

    Hi,

My current PC is under warranty and I have a problem with the graphics card because the display port doesn't seem to work. I have been asked to remove it and send it back with an RMA. Firstly I don't know how to get an RMA and also I'm not technically minded, so don't know how to remove the graphics card. Could somebody assist please? Thanks

The easiest way would be to ring up, then ask them to talk you through the removal Probably easier than us typing here

Are you getting the exact same Graphics in the RMA? If so you can just remove the card physically with out removing drivers and software.

    Remove all power from computer
Open the side of the case.
Get a Philips head screwdriver and remove the screw (May be just a thumb screw that can be removed with fingers) holding in the graphics card.
On the motherboard graphics card socket where the card is installed, right at the very end of the socket there maybe a little release catch, you simply push it down to release the card
If release catch is not present the card can simply be removed.

Then making sure not to touch any of the visible chips and components gently lift the card out.

I find removing it one end a little first then the other is usually easiest.
