The chassis can only accept a 35W CPU and unfortunately the 3610QM is a 45W CPU.

Thanks for the update.

I'm not sure if I can put off a purchase until September/October as I really need the system for our busy period (May - early September). I have been told that I can opt for a matte upgrade later on at cost, so i'll most likely go for that. Thank you.

Regarding the CPU options: I have noticed that several resellers have offered a 35W 3612QM. Might this become an option in the future?

How come the option for quad core CPUs are no longer available for the Inferno? I don't want to have missed out on it a mere week before I purchase it.

That's weird, I ordered mine yesterday morning with a quad core (the i7-3610QM)

We are currently checking this with Clevo. The chassis uses a 45W GPU and if we add a 45W CPU then that leaves the 90W AC Adapter maxed out. We may look to offer a 120W adapter providing that Clevo will validate the chassis for this use.

I really hope you do manage to offer the 3610qm. It pretty much a deal breaker for me.

It should be validated for a 120W unit given that it is available in the US with such an adaptor.

Please excuse the possible competitor link here: http://web.eurocom.com/EC/ec_model_config1(1,228,0)

That shows the same system configurable with both the 45w quads and either the 90w or 120w Power adaptor.

This + a large monitor for the home seems like a nice alternative to the 17.3'' Optimus III when it's out.

Yes, I'm starting to think about this for that very reason. Run as a 'docked' machine at a desk most of the time, but be able to move it around easily.

I would love to go for a reasonably high spec Inferno as a work / gaming machine along with my upcoming purchase of a Vortex III (waiting for 680M), however I'm dead set on waiting for a matte screen :/ I hope that they aren't too far off.

Thanks for the Sept/Oct ETA for w110er matte screens. I would definitely be interested with this option! Do let us know when matte options come in!

For anyone considering the purchase of this little beast, I h ave had the pleasure of trying one and I have to say that it is absolutely insane.

I tested Metro 2033 in dx9 very high preset 1366x768; average 38 FPS on chapter 2 "Tunnel"... that's equal to or slightly faster than my Vortex II w/ 580M at 1080p same settings. It's nuts.

Regarding game playability under battery power; operating the system under performance mode (650M enabled) does result in the 650M downclocking slightly to allow for the GPU to function, however the performance hit to games is not enormous.

While playing Metro 2033 maxed out 768p dx9, my FPS dropped from ~38 to ~33 while runnign under battery power, a performance loss of roughly 15%. After 15 mins of play the battery had only depleted around 13%, resulting in an estimated battery life of around 2 hours :D This may not seem like long, however MXM 3.0B cards such as the GTX670M, 675M and 680M downclock so much under battery power that games are simply unplayable.

This really does make Inferno the ultimate portable gaming system. Take a spare battery and you can play through most games single player campaigns \o_

Hi PCspecialist team,
I have been looking forward to getting a W110er from you with a matte screen. I have just noticed that the screen type on the configurator has changed from Glossy to Matte as the only option.

Have the screens in these changed, as anti-glare is pretty important for me.

Happy to wait longer if the screens are still the glossy ones.
