    Question Games recommendations please

My new computer can’t be far away as it has been in pre-production for 2 weeks now, so my thoughts have turned to what games will make full use of my new HD7770 GPU.
There is obviously a huge amount of gaming experience on these forums so go on lads (and lasses) let me have your views.
Just to make it harder for you – I really don’t fancy frantically rushing round shooting people or blowing things up.
I am retired so have plenty of time (especially in winter) so I get more satisfaction with games that last days rather than minutes/hours.
I enjoy strategy games such as the following but am open to alternative suggestions:
    Pharaoh
    Anno 1440
Anything by Sid Meier, I currently have Civ 5 (Can someone recommend anything like his Railroad Tycoon with more modern/advanced graphics)
My current favourite is Patrician IV – it uses my brain and staves off the onset of alzheimers. Unfortunately it also eventually burned out my 7900GTX which is what prompted me to treat myself to a new machine.
Your recommendations will be gratefully received.

You could try Skyrim - although you can rush around and blow things up, you don't have to. The graphics are lovely and you can play for weeks without finishing all the quests. On the negative side it can become a little repetitive.

Not sure if you have these or if you are even into them but:

    Dragon Age: Origins
    Dragon Age 2
    Bioshock
    Bioshock 2
    Oblivion

Edit - Oh damn, I didn't read your post properly, my suggestions may not be the best for what you want. haha sorry!

Sted - I assume they all involve destroying things :-) - maybe I should try an 'adventure' game, I haven't played one since the text based ones I could get on the Tandy TRS80 (Graphics were almost non-existant in the days prior to the Atari)
DeadEyeDuk - I've loved all the Sid Meiers I've had but I never got Pirates because I assumed it would just involve sailing round the sea blowing other ships up.
    I guess I'm a bit of a wimp!!

Both batman games are amazing and have mint graphics & all the assassins creed games are fun apart from the first one.

I would recommend Total War: Shogun 2 along with it's expansions, It's a brilliant strategy game, If not the best of it's kind!
