Question Ram Swap and general advice

    Evening guys,

I was hoping to sell my desktop on ebay as I'm saving up to build my own rig. My mate said he'd lend me his old PC since I wouldn't have one to play games on. Unfortunately the desktop didn't sell >.< So I opened up his desktop and low and behold its made from PCS with a made in 2008 sticker on it xD

Anyway I switched HDDs and all was well. Now this PC only has 2GB RAM so I decided to switch those also. The 4GB RAM from my PC looks "integrated-ish" I say that as they have no brand or casing like the 2x1GB RAM corsair's he has. However I keep getting an error message on the blue screen saying there has been an error and windows can't continue etc. Now does this mean RAM isn't interchangeable like that? The motherboard is a ASUS P5N-MX

Also was just wondering which PC is better for gaming....

    AMD Phenemom 9600 @ 2.3GHz
    4GB RAM
    Integrated Geforce100

    OR

    Intel Core duo @ 3.0GHz
    2GB RAM
    Integrated 9600 GT
Don't have much knowledge on older hardware so any advice is welcome!

    Thanks in advance
