AMD releases driver 12.6 but...

Yeah there was a but and that but is, it still does not support 7970m

So the official driver for 7970m is 12.7 and will be released as the name suggests in July 2012. Fingers crossed it'll make the 7970m reliable and kicking @ss.

You could always use the 12.7 Beta Drivers for a bit?

Few reports of bugs in flash video playback and ctd in a few games though. Certainly not as stable as the 12.6 Beta I've been using since late May.

Hmm according to this thread in Notebook Review 12.6 do support 7970m.

I did the tool check thing and it did recognise my 7970m as being supported on the official AMD site as per the thread.

EDIT It seems that I was wrong . When I actually tried installing 12.6 I got a hardware not compatible error. Bit strange tbh reading the notebook review thread
