That's one way to remove the grind.

The grind was never really that bad in FF7 anyway, not by the standards of today's grinding in some MMO's. If you need to grind XP in FF7 you only need to get to Nibelheim (the town Sephy burns down in Cloud's flashback), go over the drawbridge and in to the mountain cave and when you reach the final part of that cave just before you exit to the village where Cid joins your party, run around and fight dragons for an hour. You'll be level 50 in no time, they give huge amounts of experience and money. Then once you get the airship there is a certain patch of forest on the world map, if I remember rightly it's close to the Temple of the Ancients, and the only creature you ever fight in it is this silkworm/caterpillar type of thing that gives barely any XP but tons of AP to level up your materia. Again, an hour fighting those will level pretty much any materia (except some of the high-end summons like Knights of the Round Table) to max.

No need to cheat in this masterpiece.

I wonder if they'll include Aeris's resurrection? From what I read you could resurrect her in the Japanese version of the game but not in any of the western versions. There are bogus ways to revive her all over the internet but none of them work because I tried all of them at one point or another. Like stand in a certain room of the place where Aeris died for 3 hours with only an all-materia equipped and after 3 hours a special materia drops from the sky which can be used to revive her.

    I want!!! <3

the only thing that really confused me was that you'd get given Aeris's fourth limit break, but she'd always be gone long before she even had her third ones, even if i used her 100% all the time..

I wonder if they'll include the weapons too, I'd managed to beat Emerald once, but to this day I've not ever been able to manage Ruby weapon >.<

Even Gil wasn't a massive issue, once you ground your materia levels up a bit and got a few Master All clones, you'd be able to sell them for impossible amounts of Gil.. then you can buy that house at Costa Del Sol =DD

Same graphics as original to warrant these specs? (Granted, not that high, but still). I have the old pc version, and that's just fine to play.

The only new things seem to be 'gimmicky. Achievements (wow ), and cheating. The only thing that might be promising is the online features. I'm not at all persuaded there is any point of a re release like this.

Quick way to cash in on nostalgia Square?

It may also be that a lot of these older games don't actually seem to work on newer machines. I know I have a few that simply refuse to function with Windows 7 etc.

Rereleasing officially like this means they have made sure it works on new rigs (something I wish BW would do so I can actually play KotOR2 finally!) and is often the case when you see old games on Steam, i.e. they have been updated to work correctly now

I've not yet said anything useful, but feel free to give me +Rep anyway

Beat me to it, i'd say that is more or less the reason that it simply refuses to work on newer machines. speaking from expierence

It's because they removed the ability to resurrect her from the western version of the game but did a shoddy job of it. If you go back to her church after she's dead you can actually see her stood at the altar for a microsecond before she vanishes and it happens everytime you walk in. It's because in the Japanese version if you go to her church after she dies it starts a cut scene as part of the resurrection storyline, so they removed the cutscene but left tiny traces of it behind.

I think they'll have to... they're a big part of the storyline. Ruby weapon is easy to beat... there's 2 ways of doing it. The first is enter battle with it with 2 party members dead so that it immediately locks its claws in to the ground, then revive them in battle. This stops him being able to throw one of your party out of the battle and stops him using some of his most powerful attacks. After that it's just a case of summoning Knights of the Round Table over and over, or using Cait Sith's limit break and trying to get the instant death one.
