    The AUO offers the clearest and highest quality picture - it's one of (if not) the best notebook screens available on the market. At present the standard matte screen is only available on the SkyFire II and VortexIII with 680M.

    I thought the "Chi-mei screen" were not available on the Vortex anymore. See link below;

    BUT as long as I can specify the better AUO screen I am happy.

    Just out of curiosity why is the matte only available with the 680M?
    Does it require more GPU power/memory for some reason?

    I would have thought if you are getting the bigger graphics card you would want the better screen not the inferior Matte screen!!

    We do not stock the Chi-mei screen anymore and only a few customers have received this model (in error I must add).
    The Chi-mei matte screen comes with the SkyFire notebook by default and when customers have changed to glossy,
    some stock managed to get mixed in with the AUO stock.

    We have decided to have all our notebook models manufactured with matte screens by default now, although stock is only just starting to come through and will take many months to fully change over. We have thousands of glossy screens in stock. This way customers can have a matte screen or a glossy screen for the same price, and only if they want the AUO model do they have to pay any upgrade costs. This will save many customers £79

    What is the model number of the standard matte? Is it still the CheMei? And they are both 72% Gamut correct, with the CheMei just being slight inferior picture quality? Is there anyway we can have a comparison?

    All the model numbers are available when you click the "?" button next to "chassis & display" on our configurator. To be honest the Chi-mei screen is good, but the AUO has the best picture clarity. Any standard matte screen in a notebook on display today will probably have an LG or Chi-mei screen although I am just assuming this based on what I've heard about the major branded laptops.

    Is it possible to refine the 'many months' any further (and if so are you willing to)? In particular for the OptimusIII would be superb
