1600mhz ram running at 1333

Running Kingston hyper x 1600 ram (2x4gb) in Windows 7 64bit on Asus m5a99x evo motherboard but cpu-z shows maximum bandwidth as 667Mhz (=1333 with DDR). I tried changing bios settings but I'm just fumbling around in the dark really since I don't know what I'm doing. Some advice would be very appreciated. Thanks.

RAM is set at 1333mhz by default,If you want it to run at 1600mhz, enable xmp(extreme memory profile) in bios settings,can't give you more detailed instructions as bios settings will differ depending on the motherboard you have.

Also note if your system has by any chance been overclocked the memory speeds have probably been left at 1333Mhz for good reason (to improve stability of the overclock). One of the advantages to high latency memory is you can lower the frequency to keep the system stable while still having relatively high memory speeds. So if this is the case you could try out a higher speed but it might introduce instability.
