if its just for gaming 8gb of RAM is plenty so I would change that. I'd also add the upgraded thermal paste for £9 as its such a small amount. other than that it looks a pretty decent set-up. I'd possibly go for a faster second hard drive too.

Looking at it you could probably drop the processor down one notch too a you wont really see much difference.

Thanks for the reply, would I need 16GB RAM for photoshop? Also I would like it last a few years so would dropping the processor down would it last as long without the higher one? Such a noob question lol

Just having a quick look over the only thing i can really say to upgrade is the thermal paste, just to lower the temp a bit more. 16GB of ram is only really needed when you are rending photos and using high demand software. Overall i think its a great build!

i just realised that your build is almost exactly the same as mine lol. i have gone for higher ram as i need it for video editing/rendering etc. What exactly would you be doing in photoshop? if its just general picture clean u etc 8gb is still fine. If its very large images, manipulation and rendering i'd go for 16

I'm going to be editing RAW files that are up to 20MB in photoshop. So do you think 16 will be over kill?!

Well it would help keeping it cool, just don't put the laptop on your lap. The hotter it gets the more the fans will turn and the louder it gets. If you want it running cool and at peak performance i would get a cooling stand. The 680M will give off the most heat.

I would definitely get the cooling stand. You want to protect your investment as your going to have a fantastic piece of kit. A decent cooling stand is a good way to do that. In my opinion 8gb RAM will be fine using files of that size.

Keep your second drive a 5400rpm if its going to be used as a storage drive, who needs a secondary storage drive to be fast anyway, it will just cost more and you wont notice it.
    Add thermal paste £9
