Help: PC spec for FEM, CAD/CAM and Matlab

I am looking for a new PC configuration. I will use it mostly for FEM, CAD/CAM and Matlab. My budget is around £1250 without the monitor.

After reading various topics I have come up with a custom build but would like some advice.

For CAD/CAM I assume you're mainly working with high res 2D images? If this is the case I would recommend an Nvidia Quadro card. You can configure this here:

Could you tell me what is the difference between ASUS® P6T WS PROFESSIONAL: NEW ERA CORE i7 WORKSTATION and ASUS® P6X58D-E: DDR3, USB 3.0, SATA 6.0GB/s, 3-Way SLI.

Way more PCIe x16 expansion slots and a greater number of these can operate at full bandwidth at any one time than the P6X58, there are other larger differences but im unaware of them.
