New PC will not boot properly

    Hi,

I got my new PC today and after a quick silliness on my part got the moniter working. However, it refuses to boot properly. When it boots normally, it simply restarts itself on the loading windows screen. It beeps properly each time it restarts. When I use the boot using last good configuration option, it gets past that and gives me the error: 'windows could not finish configuring the system'. It then hangs while saying 'setup is starting services'.

The keyboard response it also really really sluggish and bad, i assume this is related. Any ideas apart form calling customer support? I have tried using the windows 7 disk supplied but it makes no difference.

    Will

If you got it today you could try a clean installation of windows. Are you using a wireless keyboard?

I would try a clean install, pressing f8 with the os disc inserted will bring you to the option to boot from the OS disc.Instructions on how to do a clean install are given in the welcome booklet.
Failing that it would point to a hardware problem,in which case best call PCS.

You could try reinstalling the drivers for the keyboard/mouse and changing the USB port for the receiver.

Finished a clean install, installed all drivers. Everything runs as it should. Yay.
