new spec,is it any good?
Hi,
I know this spec is a bit high but i really want a good ,fast pc with lots of memory.
I am new to gaming,i saw a friends rig and it blew me away.He used 2 monitors but
i am using one.Video editing is also what the pc is being used for so need a lot of
memory.Dont know if i should overclock[does this reduce life span of pc?]
If i can save money by downgrading without compromising speed and quality i would.
Any comments welcome.
regards Robert H from Scotland

that is quite a bit overkill for gaming on one screen.
Its a lovely build, but definately a tad overkill. Will make a spec for ya

I'd go for something similar to this.
Case
COOLERMASTER HAF-X FULL TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Processor i7-3770K (3.5GHz) 8MB Cache
Motherboard
ASUS® P8Z77-V: PCI-E 3.0 READY, WIFI, SLI, CROSSFIREX No need for the sabertooth, unless you specifically want the cooling features it offers, or the design of the actual mobo.
Memory (RAM)
16GB KINGSTON HYPER-X GENESIS DUAL-DDR3 1600MHz, X.M.P (4 x 4GB KIT)no need for 2133mhz ram, thats incredibly fast, is only used when overclocking to crazy lengths, can be unstable too. Stick with 1600mhz.
Graphics Card
2GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 670 - 2 DVI, HDMI, DP - 3D Vision Ready Unless you want the highest settings on every game go for this, also you dont need two gpu's for one monitor, its not really needed. Ya could if ya have the money go for a 680, but you probably wont see much of a difference.
Memory - 1st Hard Disk
240GB KINGSTON HYPERX 3K SSD, SATA 6 Gb/s (upto 555MB/sR | 510MB/sW)
2nd Hard Disk
2TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)
3rd Hard Disk
2TB WD CAVIAR BLACK WD2002FAEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm)
1st DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
24x DUAL LAYER DVD WRITER ±R/±RW/RAM
Power Supply
CORSAIR 750W PRO SERIES™ HX750-80 PLUS® SILVER MODULAR (£119) This is plenty big enough for a single gpu, or even two 670's, although if you want a 680 with the possibility of adding another 680 i'd probably go with the 1050w psu.
Processor Cooling
COOLIT ECO II FAT BOY PUSH/PULL CONFIG LIQUID CPU COOLER (£69) As you are going to be doing alot of heavy video editing, I think it would be a good idea to get a awesome cooler, would help keep the cpu nice and cool, some may say a tad overkill, but, I wouldn't.
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)No need for a soundcard, unless you have a high end sound system, try without one, then if needed you can always add one in, mega easy upgrade.
Network Facilities
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT - AS STANDARD ON ALL PCs
USB Options
6 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL (MIN 2 FRONT PORTS) AS STANDARD
Operating System
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit w/SP1 - inc DVD & Licence
Office Software
NO OFFICE SOFTWARE
Anti-Virus
NO ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE
Warranty
3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) (£5) If you can afford a bit more warranty, its certainly worth it in my opinion.
