    black screen please help

ok so the story goes my laptop arrived and being the noob i am i orderd the dvd caddy as it was the cheapest not realising there is no dvd drive now! so anyway i looked through the disks that arrived and seeing the windows 7 i thought i had to install it or update it or something so i copyed the disk onto an external hard drive using my bro's laptop and hit set up on my new laptop which led to a upgrading windows screen! (after talking to the pc specialist guys on the phone i found out windows 7 was already installed and there was no need to even touch this disk!) well towards the end of the instilation the screen just goes black for ages then it restats and when it boots it just returns to this black screen and i cant even start it in safe mode i have no idea what to do here any ideas?

The easiest way to install windows now would be to use an external USB dvd drive.

A clean install from the disk will fix everything, tap the appropriate key on start up to boot from disk,(normally F8) instructions are given in the welcome booklet.
