    Cool Tablet Laptop

    Hi folks.
I have been really yearning for a tablet laptop ever since I was in work and our storyboard director was showing off his set-up. But I have tried looking everywhere for them with no luck at all. The only place I can find them is amazon.

Now, I dont mean ipads and tablets like that. I mean the laptops with a tilting, swiveling screen that can be used as a touchscreen or as a drawing pad. Ideally I want it with wacom sensitivity and to be able to function in photoshop, flash and toon boom.

My budget would be £1000, but would like to save some money. I do realize that they dont sell really under £700, but any help would be appreciated.

As for specs, good and fast enough to handle these programs really so that I can animate and draw on the move. So 4GB RAM....300-500GB harddrive....graphics card not much of an issue, dont intend on doing much gaming on it, but if I can get a nvidea GTS450...I think was recommened for my desktop, I'd be open minded if I can play the same game on both my desktop and laptop.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

They usually break within the first 6 months xD

Had a friend who had one, despite taking great care with the screen, everything fell apart.

I had the HP TX1000 before my new Enigma II.

It had a major (known) fault with the GPU where it would overheat and separate itself from the motherboard causing the screen to stop working. It wasn't that great for drawing or writing on. It was a bit of a novelty as I used it once or twice then just forgot about it. Also, because of the thickness of the laptops its hard to write on them on the desktop and even harder trying to balance it on your lap/hold it when you're not at a desk

If I were you I would avoid them. Get a nice spec laptop and use the money you saved to buy a purpose built tablet if you really want the functionality.

    Just my two cents.

    Peace.

Thanks for your opinions guys, certainly sounds bad from what you say, which juxtaposes some reviews I have read. Gonna try saving money and getting my parents to buy it as an xmas gift. lol

I have read that the TM2 comes with wacom techology which is what I want, and I recently saw a refurbished one online for under £600, which must be a bargain. Think I may chance it.
