[I've moved your spec to a thread of its own]

Yes, the DVD player will be fine for playing games from.
You will be fine without a sound card, onboard sound is pretty good, and is easily good enough for the vast majority of games/gamers.

Though you can probably drop the RAM down to the Samsung 1333MHz stuff if you're not planning on overclocking as you wont really see a difference.
And you'd be fine dropping the cooling down a bit too as far as I reckon.

Though do note, by August you will be able to get a lot better for the same money.

As Rakk mentioned, probably best if you have a look at building another spec closer to August as you'll be able to get a better build for cheaper, plus, there's constant changes and new components coming out.

Keep checking the forums to see whats good/not good but look at building closer to August

Ryt guys Im going away for 10 days and I thought I would put this spec up before going then reading any replies when I get back.

Basically I want a gaming PC that will last me as long as possible

This PC is a little out of my budget so hopefully it will get cheaper in a few months.

    Any advice would be brilliant

If I have to make cutbacks then it will be on the mobo first then the graphics card.

I am hoping it will cost a max of £1900 when I intend to get it.

The only problem with it is, is that I cant have a sound card becuase the mobo only supports PCI E 0 devices.
I only intend to play PC games. Will the 5.1 channel 6 sound be OK?
