The PC should not really be struggling.

When was the last time you done a good old cleanup? system cleanup, disk de-fragmentation etc.?
It might just need a good old service. Also what operating system are you running? I can recommend some programs for servicing then.

I have a very similar PC but with a different Motherboard & Graphics Card and it runs all of the latest games, admittedly I turn down a few settings but nothing major. I agree with LFFPicard, your PC probably needs a clean up. I try to install my OS every 12 - 18 months to ensure it doesn't get clogged up with rubbish.

as Meds said, try installing your OS every year or so so it doesn't get completely over clogged with junk, because with those specs it should run things fine, besides possibly fraps, fraps is terrible. If you ever get a chance to get an SSD I really recommend it, then put fraps on that and it works a treat.
