    A few questions.

In a nutshell i have had my current desktop for 4 years and am looking to buy a another that will last me another 3 - 4 years.

Im not too hard on my pc just the odd bit of photo editing and maybe watching a few movies.

I don't use my pc for gaming too much, and when i do i wouldn't be too worried about playing on lower settings, if i were to buy a low end graphics card would it just be obsolete even on low settings in a year or 2? Would i be better to bolt on a lower end graphics card for the overall performance of the system forgetting the games aspect of it i.e. video playback when connected to a larger tv or would it not matter?

Dual core or Quadcore? What does a Quadcore do better than a Dual core, would i be better off investing in a quadcore now or just go for a slightly faster dual core?

Lastly with the ever increasing hunger for memory 4 or 8 Gb of ram?

    Hi, for the use described:

GPU: GTX 460 solid mid range card that will last way into the next couple of years.
Ram: 4GB is fine, if you find it lacking you can always up it to 8GB later, go for 1333mhz.
CPU: A fast dual core is fine. You will not see many benefits of Quad core for your use.
I dont work for PCS anymore, fix it yourself!
