Motherboard help!!!

Hi guys,

I recently dug up this ancient Phillips Freevents MT2400 desktop in the attic and though i'am no IT guru i though "hey i'll try building one from the ground up!" and it didn't dawn on me i knew nothing about this till after i've had my fun disassembling it.

Heres the problem, I want to build a rig from the ground up for moderate gaming but i also want to keep the chassis as well if possible and it would help if i knew what motherboard was originally in there (to compare and make sure the new one fits!). Bearing in mind I know absolutely nothing about computer components does anyone know how i can find this out and which motherboards is suggested to be considered? (the original had 8 screws holding it in place if that helps)

many thanks guys!

Right, firstly, from what I can find out the motherboard linked below is the one that was fitted into that model:

Secondly, a case that was supplied by Philips in a stock off-the-shelf mass produced PC is not good enough for gaming, no two ways about it. You'd be better off buying a new case for a new gaming build (any that cost around £50 and upwards should do).

Thirdly, and most importantly, this site is exclusively for discussing PCS builds seeing as that's what's they do and it's their forum. If you post your budget on here people will be more than happy to spec you up a PCS build.

Cheerz for the quick reply, my budget is 500-700 and im looking to build a desktop similiar if not better than the alienware x51 4th gen i5 model as im debating whether to just purchase one an save the hassle or have one built to avoid the premium.
