Memory Upgrade Query

I have a Sony Viao VGN-NR32L which I am running Ubuntu 64 bit on.

It has the following standard spec:

Intel Dual Core T2390 1.86GHz
2GB/Go DDR2 SDRAM

I am wondering if I am able to swap the two 1GB of RAM for two 2GB of RAM increasing my memory from 2GB to 4GB? I cannot seem to find what motherboard the laptop has.

If I can increase the RAM what would you recommend me purchase? Don't wish to spend too much if possible!

Unfortunately 2Gb is the max supported on that model, easiest way to check is via the crucial update tool as below:

Thanks for your reply. I had checked those websites, but I thought that with using Ubuntu that maybe I would be able to use more RAM as long as the motherboard would allow? As per this link: http://www.wikihow.com/Find-Out-the-Maximum-RAM-Capacity-for-Your-Computer. Take it that from what your saying its the motherboard that will only allow up to 2GB?

By quickly checking on google it seems the maximum supported is 2gb ram
