When will PC Specialist allow pre-orders for the Clevo W230ST (13.3" gaming notebook)

If you're thinking of who I think you are, note the expected arrival date, 17/08/13. Really hoping that's a typo and they mean 17/07/13, but it's a reason not to rush to order from them.

They probably just set that date to allow time for any potential delays. All indications online post to a Mid-July date for delivery to system builders, so I'd expect a late-July, early-August shipping date for consumers.

Thanks folks.

I thought it would probably be the MSI GE40. Really eager for a new laptop at the moment and not sure whether to go for this or just keep holding out for the W230ST.

The GE40 comes with a 760M? I'm not sure of the performance difference between than and the 765m, but my real issue with MSI laptops, is that your warranty is void if you try and upgrade the storage/RAM. I'd say wait another week or two and see what happens with the W230ST.

When you do start taking orders of the W230ST (should be soon I reckon as US is getting it roughly 16th July) please let us know which LCD panel options you use in it, as though the Chi Mei Innolux N133HSE-EA1 is it seems the best panel that can fit this model some places (like that giant one in the US, you know who I mean) are fitting AUO panels that are still pretty good but not the absolute best. I'd rather not have to buy the panel myself as since I likely can't order the laptop without one I'd waste money :(

Hello Mr moosEh

I see you guys are well behind the rest of the world in ordering an stocking this laptop, its feels as though you don't really care if us PCSpecialist customers cant wait to be last an order from mainland Europe or the us, come on be competitive be ahead of the curve, give your customers what they want, people in Asia an the US are already taking delivery an we have to wait another month or two, i would rather buy from you as i have done before but making us geeks wait is not a good idea, so i hope you guys will pull your pants up an get in the race :scooter:

Sorry for the little rant, just frustrated as am sure a lot of the members are on here!!!

Hello Mr moosEh

I see you guys are well behind the rest of the world in ordering an stocking this laptop,

We have had them on order since they came out, we just don't want to give you false hope by keep announcing a date only for it to be pushed back because our stock has not landed. As soon as it lands with us we will put it on the site, as jack said should be sometime after the first week in august.

P.S most sites have them online for pre-order.

Oh nice! They're available to order from you guys now! Whenever it's possible could you let us know which panels you're receiving in your units? Just wondering whether I'll have to buy and fit a chi-mei myself and spend an extra £150 or so doing that.

Separately do you guys do *really* barebone builds by request? I have 16GB of RAM and an Intel 335 240GB SSD, and an Intel 6235 for that matter to carry over from my old machine (bought from you in february :p) to this one so I don't need the minimum supplied RAM, HDD or wireless card, especially if it'll drop the price a little.

I tried this when I bought my Genesis IV but they insisted on having at least the bare minimum in everything so I got that (i.e. the 2GB RAM option, which is actually handy for testing purposes).

All this stuff's already been tested, but thanks. I guess the HDD can be used by my NAS, the rest I can turn into a keyring and a bookmark (who has another use for such low density RAM?)

Do you buys actually have it in shop if so, when are you expecting to ship, if i place my order now will it start to build now or is there gona be a delay???
