Black screen of misery

i have a

Ryzen 7 3800x
Rtx 2080 super
16gb ram
And evo 980 SSD

Was playing warzone on like half moderate settings less than half vram being utilised running at a steady 120fps 1440p. Screen went black then the pc reset it's self and consecutively failed to reboot.

Turned it off left it and managed to get back on the next day. Screen keeps blacking out or freezing applications intermittently.

I have rolled back updates, I have deleted graphics drivers and have updated windows. All to no avail it's hard to run any programmes due to the issue so doing the a above took a good few hours I have uninstalled any applications from the past few weeks. I have made sure the graphics card is properly seated aswell.

Pc is still under warranty but the thought of sending it away and after spending 20 mins stuck on pc specialist support line is torturous.

I think i will have to send it back just wondering if anyone else has any ideas or suggestions?

Cheers

What are the temperatures like? HWMonitor (free) is good tool to use for that. Post a screenshot at idle and under heavy load.

Can you post the full spec too please, it helps.

TDR error which it failed to fix, then went into a restart cycle.

I tried again last night got into windows that's when I started removing drivers, backdating/updating and removing recently installed apps.

I can try reinstall windows tonight

First thing would be a clean install. Once we know windows is clean, then we can start troubleshooting further.

Hopefully it’s a software issue, but possibly overheating, but it’s going to be a struggle to monitor that with these symptoms occurring.

I guess it could be a drive issue also.
