This reply from this morning doesn't give me much hope. Asked if I switched to standard 3080 option what would happen.

Looks like mine has been built, on the order page I have the name of the person that built it so looks like changing the cpu is out of the question, especially with them not being released until the 5th.

Really wasn't expecting it to be ready so soon having ordered on the 24th.
Lol, I must be the only person in the world waiting on a 3080 thats annoyed I actually have one.
Not the end of the world so cant complain.

It seems that the Liquid series builds get priority over a standard build. Kinda annoying because I ordered my ROG 3080 at 2pm on the 17th but I guess it is what it is. Got an estimated build date of Friday so fingers crossed it's actually correct this time :)
Can I ask how you know this?

Yeah it's interesting.... I was told by phone and also email that my build that I ordered on early hours of 20th September should be built by end of this week (16th). I am apparently just awaiting stock for my h115i platinum cooler. I confirmed with both reps that this was considering the 3080 shortage and they weren't just going off the generic 5 day holding timeframes, to which they confirmed. I had an auto email last week confirming 16th and another auto email today confirming the same build date so fingers crossed!

I had an email this morning saying my ETA for the build was the 16th. I asked via their messaging system whether it was accurate or whether to ignore it like the previous, and they said it's best to ignore it as they don't have any 3080s in stock.

Unfortunately, it's all very up in the air!

I'm just making an educated guess. This is the 2nd person to have their 3080 ROG order status change to being built. Both ordered a Liquid Series build and both ordered after I did. Liquid series also have a much faster estimated build time compared to a standard build on the order status page.

Liquid series don’t get any preferential treatment, please don’t make assumptions because people latch on to them, only post information like that if you’ve confirmed it with PCS.

Best to expect the worst that way we won't be disappointed come Friday but maybe pleasantly surprised. 👍🏽

Please stop this 'I have information that contradicts your information' competition and 'educated guesses'. I've asked people not to speculate on here, it doesn't help anyone.

I assume you are addressing me?
No speculation here other that what was sent to me by PCS staff themselves.

If you like I can take the posts down?

It’s not really speculation though when it’s coming direct from PCS staff? It’s just contradicting which I think is fair to highlight is actually an issue? I am on hold on the phone now to get more answers.

Posting information you have received from PCS is fine. What's not fine is attempting to interpret that information to create your view of what PCS are doing. That is speculation.

Stick to the facts please, don't assume, interpret or speculate.

Yes and the facts of both emails are different. Mine states that if I amend my order my queue position remains the same. While another user had been told the opposite. It’s just frustrating given the lump sum of money that has already been debited for the products. They could have a better automated response regarding their setups rather than two staff members giving conflicting replies.
I understand that this happens but it’s unfair to say it’s being interpreted wrong.

And I do understand that it's frustrating, but it doesn't help for people to interpret what mixed PCS messages mean and post those interpretations on here.

People can make up their own minds what conflicting information from PCS really means for their build.

Well ordered my system with a RTX 3080 on the 17-09-2020 at 14:06 (according to website) and still no idea when I will get it.

Have talked to PC Specialist by email and they have confirmed to me they are building machines that are waiting for RTX 3080 by order date. So if that is true and no one is getting ahead of queue, then I can accept that.

It's just when you see people posting in forums saying that their order is being built or has been built after with an order date later than mine with an RTX 3080 in the order. I do wonder if something is going on.

Don't want to be treated as special just want to know that there is a fair process in asigning 3080's to customers orders.

Will go back to looking at the order screen and pressing refresh every 5 seconds now.

Hope we all get our machines soon

So below is the basics of my conversation with them, my first question was what's the likelihood of receiving before Xmas due to mass 3080 shortages. Like mentioned in the email, I called PCS on 9th to confirm that the actual build date looks set for next week, and this wasn't just an operative looking at the generic build date. The guy over the phone confirmed that the 3080 was not an issue and is available for my build, the cooler was the only thing being waited on which will be there by 16th and then building will commence. I will keep you all updated with any replies as I've questioned the whole order date/build date query we have.
