RTX 3080

I've been watching and observing this thread for the last 30 pages, feels appropriate to create an account now so I can share with you all what I've just been told. Brace yourselves, this may help but also may break some hearts.

I first spoke to Alice (very helpful in the PCSpecialist online chat service) on 6th of November - I switched from the regular 3080 to an ROG Strix version at this time, and was informed there was a queue of about 250 orders for this card. Alice informed me that in the previous 3 weeks (19.10 - 06.11) there had been 50 deliveries (20 first week, 0 second week, 30 third week).

I have just spoken to them on the online chat again (didn't catch the representative's name) and been informed that, since that day (6th November) there have been - this is where you brace yourselves - 2 units delivered (ROG Strix version). At this point I shed a little tear, not gonna lie.

The chap helpfully explained that I should expect my PC to go into build on the week of Christmas, but not to get my hopes up as this is just a rough estimate. They have deliveries scheduled but, like everywhere else, deliveries aren't showing up or aren't having as many units as they should. So basically, they don't really know.

Now for the good bits. I got some numbers.

I ordered my PC on 30th October at 14:35.

For anyone waiting for a Ryzen 9 5900X CPU, there are 572 orders currently in place and only 38 in stock. I am number 34 in that queue, so one of those has been assigned to me.

For anyone, like me, waiting for a ROG Strix 3080, there are 392 orders in place. I am number 176 of those orders.

For anyone waiting for a regular RTX 3080, there are 1,492 orders in place. I am not in that queue so can't give an idea of where they are working through those.

I hope this information helps some people make informed decisions. I am considering trying to source the GPU from somewhere else separately, but will give PCS some more time as I do love them as a company.

Wow! Thanks for sharing your experience. That is amazing info you managed of get out of them. I ordered my ROG Strix 3080 on 4th Oct and this morning, I was told that I was at the 'front' of the queue for my GPU and a 5900x was already allocated to me. What that actually means in terms of delivery, who knows?

Thanks for the info. I have the 5900X build too, just waiting on GPU which is RX6800XT. Been looking around for gpu from other retailers, only a few choices of 3090 in stock PNY, KFA2 and Gigabyte around £1600 to £1700. Too expensive for me.

I am honestly so confused at this point. how did you find out what number you are? I've contacted them on more than one occasion and every time I'm told they have no way of checking a queuing system and that it's just rough estimates.

I decided to try to get an RTX 3080 elsewhere so I removed the ASUS card from my order on Friday. I signed up to Stock Informer and was able to order an MSI card early on Saturday morning, to be delivered this Friday. My order is now in building. I ordered on 8th October.
It's already waiting to be dispatched. I suppose testing is quicker when there isn't a GPU.

Seriously, it does feel like 'the straw that breaks the camels back', at this point. I dont want to wait long if I have a card allocated to me. I have been patient and its not really PCS's fault. I hope they get the Microsoft Office key quickly 🙏
I think for most people going in to testing should be quite quick.

Gutted, this “premium” card better be worth the extra wait 😢😢 I wonder if I changed back would I be put back to my original position 🤣
I very much doubt it lol, so from what you've posted they are working in standard 3080s that were ordered from 1st October?
