RTX 3080

I have recently ordered a PC from PCS and was just wondering if anyone has any idea how long a build has taken that includes a rtx3080 and ryzen 9 5900x. I know these are both pre order and limited but if anyone has recently received a build similar to this could give me an idea of how long they needed to wait it would be greatly appreciated.

I've merged your thread into the previously existing 3080 thread, if you have a read through you can probably see how long they have been taking

Everyone thats 30+ working days into waiting for a STRIX 3080 or is it a long wait for any 3080?
strix cards won't be seen until late january/february at the best, that's the optimistic presumption. With standard 3080s it's about 45-65 working days wait, hard to say, depends on the deliveries PCS get

Morning all, my query kind of ties in with the RTX 3080 but tbh, I found it difficult to find a thread for my particular question, so hoping a moderator can jump on this kindly.

Do PCSpecialist make sure your rig has all the current (at the time of build) drivers for the likes of the mobo, CPU and GPU?

I had an Intel build approx 5 years ago built by PCS but was very much an eager novice so don't recall if they were all up-to-date.

Thanks in advance.

When you get your new PC just run windows update till no more updates are available, rebooting & rechecking as required, then check you've the latest graphic driver by visiting either Nvidia or AMD websites

Hi guys, when we order the pc without the graphics card they (PCS) send the pc with the necessary cables to install my own card?

I ask this because I removed my order from the 3080 STRIX and got a 3080 RTX from another store and I already have it in my hands and if they don't send the cables I will need to buy them.

Thanks in advance :)

You’ll get numerous cables and bits in your welcome pack box. If you ordered a CV unit PSU, cables are already attached to it, but with TXm range upwards, you should have everything you need in the pack to install your GPU 👍

Just wanted to report that just a few hours after replacing the Strix 3080 on my order the status changes to in build, I’m not hoping for a Christmas dispatch, but there’s hope I’ll get it before 2021!
I just wish I was a bit less stubborn and changed the card earlier!

I’ve just got off the phone again. No movement with my order still — didn’t really expect anything before Christmas as this point anyway.

Showing 61 working days now (although if the days there start at the time of order, it’ll be 62 in about an hour), so kind of hoping that @SpyderTracks was right and that at the magical 70 my mortgage will be paid off! 😂

Hopefully I’ll be getting something early January to start the new year off!

When did you place your order?

What did you replace the STRIX 3080 with?

While I’m pleased for you, I’m now more annoyed.

I placed my order on 29-09-2020 at 12:45 (regular 3080), and was told on the phone minutes before you posted that there was no stock of 3080’s.

@SpyderTracks @Ghosthud what’s the best way to escalate this? I appreciate the stock shortages and pandemic, but this seems ridiculous. Phoning seems to be getting me nowhere either 😔

I completely understand your frustration in this one, I’m 12/10 so seeing the 3rd getting built has me hopeful for next batch, I do not understand how that has been built before yous.
Im would expect you to get it soon.
