Hi looking to buy a pc strictly for fps cod mostly. Im currently getting 100fps on the series x whilst playing warzone with the lg 27gl850(g-sync) monitor. Id like to get higher frames if possible 160 to 200 , im not opposed to 1080p if i can get much higher frames. I currently can get around 100fps on the xbox with monitor displaying 1440p.

Could anyone reccommend some builds of pc that would suit my requirements. Im a noob when it comes to pcs , all i know is a good gpu and lots of ram is essential. Any feedback is appreciated.

What's your budget & you realise most folk can't actually tell the difference above 120 fps, and you'd have to splash out on another monitor to achieve the frame rates you mention as its 144Hz and 1 Hz = 1 fps

Prob 1500 -1800 euro and id be willing to get a new monitor to match the higher frames. Im just confused as.to which graphics cards would support for example 160 to 200fps at 1080p and same for 1440p

A lot also depends on how good you actually are.

you could get a 1080p 360hz monitor.

a crazy 3080 gfx card but if you are not actually that good it’s just a waste of cash.

Are you playing competitively and if so what is your usual ranking, are you in a Clan and what position do you come on Clan nights?

are you playing at lowest possible graphical settings to make best frame rate, playing pretty graphics sort of defeats the point.

I play quite a bit in my spare time and would like to get better. I always feel pc players have the upperhand over me because their game response is much quicker and smoother with their faster fps. Plus id like to have the good tools at my dissposal to get better. Any suggestions for pc builds thats suits my needs? Im no pc genius so need all the help i can get

That’s due more to mouse keyboard than simply FPS

Something like this would be good.

You would want a 1440p 144hz gaming monitor to go with it as well. The option I would normally suggest is out of stock but expect to pay around £300.

As above though, I think you are falling into the FPS trap from watching Youtube etc. FPS does play a part, but once you are maxing out 144hz on a panel you're pretty much at the limit of human perception. You need to be elite to have any use for anything above it, and by elite I mean gaming puts food on the table.

100fps at 1440p on Warzone is decent though. Especially if consistent (Which is FAR more important than count).

So you already have a really good monitor with the LG, a 27 inch IPS 1440p 144hz display, you don't need a new monitor.

@Scott has specced you a really solid build. On Warzone at high graphics settings you'll be averaging around 105 fps, but if you're looking for the competitive edge you can crank those settings right down and you'll be smashing 130+ fps. It is extremely unlikely that you will see any benefit from >144 fps. As said above anything above 120 is redundant unless you are a pro.

As stated above... the 3060ti should be able to easily push high frames on fps games. i turning certain settings down, you’ll likely push close to the 144hz/fps limit. 240hz is a sales trap for most people, where as the 1080p to 1440p is very noticeable.

Another main advantage pc have over console though imo, is the ability of an UW screen and having insane field of view.

it’s a great build above

I just want to experience the higher frames for myself to see if it makes a difference. Coming from using tv on my xbox at 50fps to using the series x with monitor at 100fps was a big difference started to win a lot more games felt like a game changer.

You won’t notice anything over about 120hz.

3060ti is the perfect 1440p card.

1080p is pointless, it’s a really poor experience over 1440p.

With the appropriate settings, definitely. It's a very powerful card.
At 1080p you should be able to get any sort of frame rate you wish, defined by the settings again.

The settings on the PC are FAR higher than the Xbox so you need to be mindful of this. If it's all about performance, just drop the shiny things :)

Just be very careful spending a lot of cash, only to find you are still rubbish at XX game.

personally spend money on a base setup that you can grow to match your ability and experience.

new drivers going out an buying an M2 and crashing it are soooo common it’s unreal.

if you are not that good in a Fiesta, you suddenly won’t become a Driving God driving a Golf R, Mercedes AMG A45S, M2 etc.

To be honest I think its more the fact they use a mouse and keyboard and you use a controller I imagine dosent matter how good you are with a controller a pc player with a decent mouse will react ingame faster !

For example rainbow six vegas 2 allowed pc players and xbox players to play together they took it away after a month due to the complaints from xbox users
