Ciao a tutti, sto per acquistare un Pc principalmente per video editing e fotografia, ma anche per gaming, nel tempo libero.. vale la pena spendere 200 euro in più per la prima configurazione o mi "accontento" della seconda? grazie a chi risponderà!

Just did it, sorry for this!

i was just asking if it is worth or not for me to spend 200 euros more for the first one or go with the second configuration, as i'm buying this mainly for videoediting and photography, but also for gaming in my spare time
Heya! 12th gen is on a new platform so a whole different story compared to 11th gen, which is a pretty woeful platform. 12th gen is currently topping the performance charts so I’d definitely spend the extra. The other option is AMD? Which isn’t quite there on performance but as a more mature platform it’ll have less bugs and offers what I’d consider better value. That said, there are a few other things we could change. If you’re able to provide your budget, and the monitors you’ll be using (make and model or resolution and refresh rate) we’d be happy to recommend those changes!

My budget is around 2500€, I'm currently using a benq ud3200 32" 4k for my work (60hz refresh rate), with my Razer Blade 15 advanced, which is dying ahhahahah
That's why I'm planning on switching to a desktop PC...
so would you recommend the first option, did I got it right?

Thanks for this info! I would indeed recommend going for the first option. I've given the build a bit of an optimisation and should be a beast!

Case
CORSAIR iCUE 4000X RGB Tempered Glass Mid-Tower ATX Case Gone for the better case of the two, this one is currently my favourite case
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i9 16-Core Processor i9-12900K (3.2GHz) 30MB Cache
Motherboard
GIGABYTE Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready The 12900K is a powerful CPU and needs a strong motherboard to go with it, this Aorus Elite should do a good job of handling it
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16GB) I've decided to go for DDR4 instead of DDR5. There's currently no appreciable difference in performance between the two for what is a significantly larger cost
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR I've gone for the standard 3060TI to save the cash to spend elsewhere, you'd ideally want the 3070 for 4K 60hz gaming, but this should still do a pretty good job of it as long as you keep your expecations realistic
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE Bulk storage drive to store videos, photos and documents
1st M.2 SSD Drive
500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 6900MB/R, 5000MB/W) My preferred Gen 4 SSD, 500GB will be plenty for Windows and applications
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3500MB/sR | 2500MB/sW) A dedicated drive for games and active projects
Power Supply
CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS GOLD, ULTRA QUIET The 12900K is a power hungry CPU so a good PSU is important, this 1000W Unit will comfortably power the systrm and allow for an upgrade to the GPU down the road
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair H150i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler The 12900K is also a hot CPU, I'd recommend going for the best cooler you can get, this H150i is fantastic and will look good in the 4000X
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT
Wireless Network Card
WIRELESS INTEL® Wi-Fi 6 AX200 2,400Mbps/5GHz, 300Mbps/2.4GHz PCI-E CARD + BT 5.0
USB/Thunderbolt Options
MIN. 2 x USB 3.0 & 2 x USB 2.0 PORTS @ BACK PANEL + MIN. 2 FRONT PORTS
Operating System
Windows 10 Home 64 Bit - inc. Single Licence [KUK-00001] I'd stick to Windows 10 for now while W11 is still in its infancy

Thank you so much!!
ps. I've just seen that the GPU is in preorder only, i fear it would slow down the building a lot, isn't it?

No worries, happy to help! GPU wise, it's difficult to say. Generally 3060TI stock hasn't been too bad so as much as it might be a bit longer than they're estimating, I wouldn't expect it to take ages.

This thread might be a good place to gather an esitmate as it's full of other 3060TI customers discussing their wait times and how long it's taking them to get into build. If you're wanting a more certain answer, It'd be worth getting in touch with PCS to see what they say, although they tend to go with rather safe esitmates so it'd likely be quicker than they say.
