new laptop - intermittent screen flickering, pointer freezing, other glitches

Hi,
I have a new laptop. I uninstalled windows and installed ubuntu 20.04.3 lts
It seems to work fine for sometime but then a few glitches will arise that make it unusable. The screen will flicker, the bar with shortcuts will flick from one side of the screen to the other, pointer will freeze repeatedly and I have to click to make it mobile again. Sometimes restarting will cure this, sometimes not. Will work fine for and day or more then issues return.

Any help much appreciated.

You'll need to test under Windows as Linux isn't supported. If the same symptoms show under Windows when it's properly configured then it's likely a hardware issue, if not then likely q driver config issue in Linux.

Are there any screensavers or screen power options set? Just wondering if it's related to the screensaver kicking in or the power savings changing after a delay.

Otherwise, I wouldn't know where to start. Windoze is my playground too.
