Hi All,

I want a PC for gaming. My main game is CS:GO so I need a better CPU performance more than GPU.
I am going to use my old graphic ASUS ROG GTX 1070 Gaming Graphics Card to the new desktop listed below.

Please give some comments on this list.
I also want to have more opinion on the cooling. I am still thinking a fan cooling or a liquid cooling. Please share your thoughts.

Here are some suggestions:
  • Swap the SATA SSD for a much faster M.2 SSD - the Samsung 970 Evo or Seagate Firecuda 520 are both about the same price
  • The 5800X is about the hottest of the Zen3 AMD CPUs, put at least a H100i Elite Capellix AIO cooler on it
  • Take the RAM down to 16GB (unless you're playing MSFS or running VMs)
I would have done a re-configuration for you, but you've not posted a link to your config...

It looks like you used the Overclocked AMD configurator, but Zen3 don't respond to overclocking like some Intel CPUs do, so I've rebuilt the config on the normal configurator.

Case
CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE (better airflow, and allows fitment of the larger AIO cooler; if you want RGB fans then the Corsair 220T or Corsair 465X may be better for you)

Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Eight Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.7GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4) (hottest of the Zen3 CPUs - needs good airflow/cooling)

Motherboard
ASUS® STRIX B550-F GAMING (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready!

Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) (there's no need for 32GB - unless you are running MSFS, and 3200MHz is fine for gaming)

Graphics Card
NONE, I ALREADY HAVE A GRAPHICS CARD

1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE

500GB SEAGATE FIRECUDA 520 GEN 4 PCIe NVMe (up to 5000MB/R, 2500MB/W) (fast m.2 SSD for the OS and applications)

2nd M.2 SSD Drive
None (but I'd suggest getting a 1TB PCS or Intel 670p m.2 SSD for games - and keeping the HDD for backups/files)

Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET (allows some room for future upgrades, and current headroom to keep it in it's most efficient operating mode - could possibly go down to the 750W RMx to save a few £££)

Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)

Processor Cooling
Corsair H100i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler (newer, quieter, more efficient than older/smaller H60i)

Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING (standard paste on the H100i is very good)

Tbf if OP intends to swap his old GPU over he could go with the 4000D (which is a super cool case) buy fans to suit and install those if he feels up to it. Honestly, despite my previously fearing that work it turned out great with a little study, advice and confidence building from the lovely folks here and helped by and halved due to the hub that comes with the H100i Capellix. Took me about an hour to install 4 fans and another hour to test and tweak RGB and cooling to my preference. Of course, doing so is a little more fiddly than swapping a GPU over with the two power cables already there (or at least they were with my build) but not by too much.

I can attest to that, I yanked out the non RGB fans that came with it and plugged in 4 nice new LL 120 RGB fans, it took longer to cable manage than anything else, that 6 port hub that comes with the cappelix sure saves a lot of ball ache.

Oh that 5800 , on my rig it runs at 50 degrees, going up to 79 when stress tested, so it's a bit warm but not too bad.

If you're going for the cappelix cooler, you know that comes with a hub that come with 4 free ports free for Corsair fans, both RGB & fan control, all controllable with Corsair's Icue same as the AIO & RAM ones.

I'd pass on the extra case fans, and just get 4x LL120 from Amazon or similar, they're like £20 each or less. Fitting is literally a case of unscrewing the old ones, screwing in the new ones where they were and plugging into the cappelix commander hub (they clip right in as they're designed for Corsair fans).

Hub looks like that, and is already installed. 2 of the 6 ports will be in use (for the AIO) Each fan has 2 wires, one plugs in one side, one in the other, they're even designed so you can't plug one in the wrong side.

And if you are not comfortable doing that PCS will fit 3 x LL120's in the front all connected and ready to go for less than you can buy them from Amazon if you use the online chat to arrange it.

Personally, I'd keep the 4000D. It's simply a superior case re cooling. Very reasonable temps for me with some powerful parts and loads (see signature below) while all fans and pump lulling away on quiet mode... yet despite the more comparatively open nature of the case (compared to many, especially glass fronted ones) still very quiet. Also, easy to work with and in and plenty spacious... just in case you do the fan work yourself and/or any upgrades later.

When I tried to choose 4X LL120 from PCS, the errors show up. So I can only install further 2 additional fans for 4000D?

The computer case you have selected can support up to 4 additional fan(s) and the processor cooler that you have selected will use 2 fan slots. Therefore the case can only support a further 2 additional fan(s). You have currently selected 3 additional case fan(s). Please reduce the quantity you have selected.

The case comes with fans but they are non RGB. IF you ring PCS you can get them to replace the existing fans with the RGB ones

In my case even without asking, PCS actually installed 1 extra fan, so I had 2 with the AIO, 1 as exhaust and 2 in the front (with space for a 3rd) the fans are not terrific though. I chose to in my case, to replace the 4 non AIO ones with Corsair LL 120's as the Commander core already came as part of the Cappelix AIO and required like plugging in 2 wires for each fan on the core, plus of course I had that lovely RGB (not for everyone)

I did the same and replaced the exhaust fan which was dc with a PWM fan for better fan curve control.
