PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Home/Office build line check - No gaming or anything very intense

A note of caution. Noticed looking through AMD's specs, the 5600G doesn't support PCIe 4.0, so could become an issue for any future upgrade.

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Post Edits by Moderators

Just a bit of a grumble. In another thread, I posted a link where some one could source an alternative standalone GPU that a moderator edited out. "With the limited scope for upgrading and swapping out the GPU, you could save a bit more on reducing the PSU. Did you buy your existing PC from...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST question about gpu

Maybe he can't. Maybe the current pricing mark up plus APR for instalments is actually more expensive than his method with 12 months interest free credit. Plus he gets an additional very low spec PC he could recoup some of his money on

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST question about gpu

I think he wants to upgrade the GPU and PSU on his current system but cannot afford to pay for it in a lump sum through the upgrade process. The solution he has come up with seems to be to order the cheapest system possible with the card and PSU he wants and then pay for it over 12 months...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST question about gpu

With the limited scope for upgrading and swapping out the GPU, you could save a bit more on reducing the PSU. Did you buy your existing PC from PCS? You could go down the upgrade route on the original order instead. Edit by mod: no links or advertising for competitor sites please

PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Looking to minimize cost but still get good performance

Seeing as there already is the intention to upgrade the GPU, depending on time frame, would downgrading current GPU and upgrading to 5600X be an alternative, as it now comes closer to the original budget. Hopefully, wouldn't be too long before GPU availability goes up and prices start to come...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST Financial HELP PLS

It really is quite worrying about financial commitments people agree to without fully understanding the details. Using the Hitachi finance is great if you expect to pay it off within 12 months, but works out very expensive just for the convenience when there are far better options around. I...

    PCSPECIALIST, PCSPECIALIST CPU Overheat

As you'll still be under the warranty and they're going to replace it, you could ask them to upgrade to a better cooling system and pay the extra. On a recent RMA, I took the opportunity to upgrade the PSU. Others would be able to advise on a suitable choice.
